RE News & Announcements WE NEED YOU!!! We really, really need volunteers to be in our nursery during Sunday services. We’d like to have a rotation list long enough so people only need to be available for one service each month. Please contact Sarah Edelson if you are interested in helping with our littlest (and cutest) Accotinkers. RE Sunday & Teacher Appreciation Service, May 18: Gender and Sexuality Discussions: These evening discussions will cover a range of “queer” topics from asexuality to transgender. Using materials from the UUA Office of Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, and Transgender Concerns, this program will be filled with the latest information and concerns in the BLGT community. Join these discussions to find answers to your own questions or to help us continue to be a welcoming congregation. Mimi Konoza, mkonoza@cox.net, Mondays 7-10 p.m. (5/12) Movies That Make Us Think: Teens and adults are invited to join us for movie nights this spring. This month we will show “Saved” (5/9) and “Back to the Future” (5/30) to inspire discussions of theological and ethical issues in our world! Movies begin at 7 p.m., no previews! Bridging Workshops for High School Seniors: This year we will have a short series of Bridging workshops for our graduating seniors. These workshops will be an opportunity to talk, laugh, and ponder our Unitarian Universalist Gifts and Identity, the Dangers and Potentials of Adulthood, and Courage, Commitment, and Claiming our Adulthood. Workshops will be on Sundays, June 1 and 8 at 5 p.m. Race For Hope: On Sunday May 4, the families of the 9:30 a.m. school-age science RE class will join Team Harper for the Cassidy & Pinkard Colliers Race for Hope 5k to support Karen Harper who is participating in memory of her husband, Lewis Harper |
