Rainbow Line for Welcoming Congregation

Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church welcomes all seekers in faith without any discrimination on the basis of age, race, occupation, nationality, gender, past religious affiliation, or sexual orientation. A Welcoming Congregation is inclusive of bisexual, gay, lesbian, and/or transgender people. A diverse set of people from all walks of life call AUUC their church home.

Official recognition of AUUC as a Welcoming Congregation in January 1999 represented our commitment to open our church as a safe space for bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender persons; to raise our voices against oppression practiced in the larger community and to reach out to sexual minorities who have been the targets of ignorance and hatred.

When we truly open our hearts to the wealth of diversity of all our sisters and brothers, the inherent worth and dignity of every person is affirmed with a harmonious voice.
