  • Reach out following Sunday “Joys and Concerns”
  • Visit the ill at home or in hospital
  • Provide a compassionate heart for persons in grief, in transition, or under stress
  • Facilitate practical support through the Circle of Caring
  • Sponsor occasional workshops for the congregation

  • Meet regularly with the minister for communication and mutual support
  • Attend training sessions, often with similar teams from other churches
  • Appreciate the value of “deep listening”, silently lending an ear to another’s concerns
  • Have access to information about a wide variety of community resources

  • Telephoning the Church office ( 703/503-4579 ) and requesting that the office assistant or the recorded prompt make the connection to the “Pastoral Care Team”, a confidential voice mailbox or

The Pastoral Care Team member on call checks both the confidential voice mail and e-mail at least once every 24 hours.
